2004
In 2004 the first airport information counter was installed at the Leipzig/Halle Airport. Between 2010 and 2011 extensive research and development was carried out at the headquarters in Münsingen to further develop customized furniture for airports.
In 2011 USM Modular Furniture entered into a business cooperation and USM Airportsystems AG was established.
The USM Airportsystems range is produced by USM U. Schärer Söhne AG, Münsingen, Switzerland.
For more than 55 years USM has been manufacturing modular furniture with the main aim to adapt the product to the evolving needs of the customer. The USM system comprises of a chrome-plated brass ball, chromed steel tubes which commect to the ball forming a stable framework and powder coated metal panels mounted cetween the tubes.
In 2011 USM entered into a business cooperation to offer airports the combination of a product that fulfills the diversified demand of the user with the vision of planners and architects. USM Airportsystems has meanwhile completed projects for more than 50 airports and national airport authorities worldwide.
